Types of Orthodontic Appliances
Your treatment will be tailored for your one of a kind needs.

Clear Aligners
At Kind Orthodontics, we use Invisalign clear aligners. Invisalign treatment uses a progressive series of clear, removable, and comfortable plastic aligners to move your teeth instead of braces. Drs. Hoang and Nguyen will digitally scan your teeth with the Itero digital scanner, then engineer your teeth movements via a computer simulation, and the aligners are 3D-printed to carry out those movements. You achieve your one-of-a-kind smile by wearing the aligners as directed, changing to a new aligner weekly. Invisalign clear aligners are an esthetic and comfortable way to achieve the smile you’ve been dreaming of. Invisalign can be a great option for teenagers and adults!

Metal Braces
Our traditional braces are made of stainless steel, and are small and comfortable. We straighten your teeth using metal braces by attaching them to a special arch-wire. At each visit, you can add colored elastics to your braces for a more colorful and vibrant smile. While in braces treatment, orthodontic visits range from every 4 to 6 weeks, where we will check your braces and make adjustments.
Ceramic Braces

Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are like traditional braces, but are made of white ceramic so they are less visible on your teeth than metal braces. They are attached to your teeth and we move your teeth by connecting the braces to special arch-wires. Clear braces are a great option for patients who want a more discreet option of straightening teeth, but may not want or qualify for clear aligner treatment.
Expanders
An expander is a metal device that sits behind your teeth, either on the palate or behind your lower teeth. Expanders are used to broaden your smile to either correct cross-bites or crowding. In children, a "rapid-palatal expander" can increase the nasal airway and reduce airway obstruction in some cases.
Retainers
After orthodontic treatment is complete and your beautiful smile has been achieved, you will enter the "retention" phase. Teeth are not rigid and may continue moving throughout life, but we will custom-make retainers to help prevent your teeth from moving out of alignment. There are various types of retainers that can be made to suit your needs - either a clear type (we offer Vivera made by Invisalign), traditional "Hawley" type retainers, and "fixed" retainers.
